For leaders who refuse to stall out

The game that got you here will not get you there. Good. You outgrew it anyway.

Here is what I know for certain: the ground under your position is moving, and standing still is the only move that loses. Wait, and you watch someone half as sharp take the seat you built. Move well, and this becomes the best chapter you have written yet. I have walked people through exactly this — out of the storm and onto higher ground — and the ones who moved never looked back. The window is open now. It will not stay open for everyone.

Who this is for

You are not stuck because you stopped working. You are stuck because the position that made you no longer serves you.

Leaders across business, career, and life have already used this to rise. You would be in good company.

Starting again
You lost a role, a business, a position you built. This time you rebuild right — on ground that lasts.
Stuck in place
Same ceiling, same numbers, same year twice. You are built for more. You want the way through.
Reaching for more
New markets, bigger numbers, the fullest version of your work. You can see it. You want a clear path, not a guess.
Building a legacy
Success stopped being enough. You want what you build to outlast you. Impact, not applause.

Yourself, or the organisation you lead. The method does not change. If none of this is you, I am not for you. That is honest too.

The premise

Here is the truth almost no one will tell you: value does not disappear in a shift. It moves — from the people defending the old position to the people who claim the new one first.

Working harder will not break a ceiling or save a sinking position. Only a change of position does that — and I am very good at finding yours. This work shows you where the value is moving, and gets you there before the crowd wakes up.

How the work goes

Five stages. In order. No skipping.

One path, whether you are climbing out or climbing up. I will not promise where you land — that is yours to earn. I promise the path, and that I walk it with you.

01

See where you stand

The honest look, without the flattering version. The step almost everyone skips — and the reason they stay stuck.

02

Get steady enough to decide

You cannot choose well from fear, or grow from comfort. First we get you on solid ground. Then you move from strength.

03

Find your real opening

Where the value is moving, and what you already carry to claim it. This is where "I want more" becomes one clear move.

04

Build it, with me beside you

A direction is nothing until it is built. I stay with you through the doing — exactly where people quit when they are alone.

05

Become someone who keeps rising

Not one good leap. Harder to knock down, free of old limits, building something that outlasts you. Not a better position. A legacy.

What this looks like for you

Wherever you are standing, the work meets you there.

I will not promise where you end up — that is yours to earn. But here is what the work is for, wherever you are standing right now.

You have just stepped into a bigger role — and quietly, you are afraid of it.
We close the gap between the person who won the role and the person it now needs — so you lead from footing, not fear.
You want a leadership position you do not yet hold.
We name what stands between you and it, then build the capability and the case to close that distance.
You want to move up, but you have stalled at the same level.
We find why you are stuck — rarely effort, usually position — and change the thing that moves you up.
You are turning over the idea of a new business.
We pressure-test it before you risk anything, and if it is real, build the path from idea to first ground.
You want new opportunities and new income.
We find where the value is moving in your world, and what you already hold that lets you claim it.
You have lost a position and have to begin again.
We rebuild deliberately this time — on ground that will not give way under the next shift.

The person behind the work

Counsel, not a course.

I am James Tunji Ishola, a Transition & Growth Strategist. Twenty years guiding leaders through the moments that decide everything — whether the ground moved under them, or they set their sights higher. A coach's method, a mentor's judgement, and the truth most people are too polite to tell you.

I know this ground because it once gave way under me. What I had built came apart — quietly, then all at once. I had to get off the floor and start again. So I know that hour: the fear before dawn, the pride that hides how bad it is, the loneliness while everyone assumes you are fine. None of this is theory to me. I found my way back up. I can help you find yours.

Since then I have walked many leaders through their turning points. Some were surviving a hard blow. Just as many were reaching for more — breaking through a ceiling, entering a new market, stepping up a level. Recovering or reaching, it is the same work: see where you truly stand, find where the value is moving, and rise into it.

A deliberately small practice — a handful of people at a time. Depth like this cannot be done at scale, and is not meant to be.

What this is built on

Three things I will not compromise.

Three principles run through everything here. They are not negotiable, and they are why the work holds when things get hard.

Stewardship over ownership
What you hold, you hold in trust. That is not a limitation — it is what lets you act boldly and let go cleanly when the moment demands it. Fear grips; stewardship releases.
Wisdom over cleverness
The market rewards clever moves in the short run and wisdom in the long one. Reading the times, discerning what matters, and choosing the durable over the impressive — that is the older discipline this work is built on.
People over transactions
Everyone you lead, serve, and negotiate with carries a worth that is not set by their usefulness to you. Build on that and you build things that last, and earn trust that compounds.
Honesty about proof

What I can promise — and what I will not.

Anyone who promises you a number is lying, and you are far too sharp to fall for it. So here is what I will promise, and what I have delivered again and again: you will see your position with brutal clarity, you will know the one move that matters, and you will not walk it alone. The directors, executives, founders, and leaders I have done this with came out sharper, richer, and harder to knock down. That is not a sales pitch. That is the pattern.

Moves I have worked through with others
Technology and artificial intelligence displacement Restructuring and redundancy Breaking through a ceiling Expanding into new markets Rapid scale and leadership transition Stepping up to a new level Reinvention after a fall Building for legacy and impact
These are the kinds of moves this work is built for.
What you are paying for

Not hours. Not information. Judgement, when it counts.

The method is in a book, for the price of dinner. The private work buys something else — and I will be plain about what.

What the fee is for
Judgement
A second mind on decisions that are expensive to get wrong, from someone who has made and watched these calls before.
Accountability
Being walked through the doing, not handed a plan and left alone — which is exactly where most people falter.
Access
Me in the room when it matters — between the scheduled sessions, at the moments that decide things.
Honesty
Someone with no stake in flattering you, who will tell you the truth about your position when others will not.
What you walk away with
Clarity about where you stand
An honest, unflinching read of your real position — the thing almost no one around you will give you.
A decision made, not deferred
The move you have been circling, chosen with a clear head and good counsel — no longer left to drift.
A plan you have already begun to build
Not a document that gathers dust — real moves, started, with someone beside you as you make them.
Yourself, steadier
Deciding and leading from footing instead of fear — which tends to outlast any single decision we make together.

I cannot sell you the result — anyone who promises that is selling you something. I sell you the work, my full attention, and the truth. If that is worth it to you, we should talk. If not, we should not.

Work With Me Privately The Partnership

Six months. My full attention on your move — the honest read, the one decision that matters, and me beside you through the build, where most people quit. This is where it happens.

£3,000/mo6 months · limited places

Most start with the diagnostic, see the real constraint, and choose from there. The private places are deliberately few — a handful at a time, because depth cannot be done at scale. When they are gone, they are gone. The people who move early are never the ones left wishing they had.

Engagement Three · Constraint: structure

The Cohort

A structured ten-week programme through your two hardest stages, worked live alongside a small group facing the same thing — with me leading.

£2,500 · ten-week programme

What it is

A small group, meeting fortnightly over ten weeks, working the method together in real time. You get my guidance and the discipline of a shared timetable — plus the honest scrutiny of peers who are in the same position and will not let you drift.

Who it is for

The person who has the clarity but not the momentum. You know roughly what you need to do; what is missing is structure, pace, and people to hold you to it. Also for those who do their best thinking alongside others.

How it works

  • Five fortnightly live sessions over ten weeks
  • A small group — never a crowd
  • Work set between sessions, reviewed openly
  • My guidance, shared across the group

What you walk away with

  • Real movement through your two hardest stages
  • A plan you have begun to act on
  • A small group of peers who know your situation

Honest note

The Cohort gives you my guidance, but shared — not private. If your situation is confidential, unusually complex, or demands undivided attention, one of the private engagements below will serve you better.

Engagement Five · Constraint: a sustained transition

The Partnership

Six months as your private thinking partner through the full arc of a transition — across both the personal and organisational tracks. The deepest of the individual engagements.

By application · six-month engagement · investment discussed directly

What it is

The Partnership walks the whole journey with you — from the honest first look, through finding your footing and your opening, to building the next level and consolidating it. A steady monthly rhythm of private sessions, with access in between for the moments that matter, because the real work happens between the conversations, not only in them.

Who it is for

Someone facing a transition too consequential to navigate alone or settle in a single decision — a genuine change of level, direction, or circumstance — who wants a dedicated partner across the full arc, not just at the start.

How the six months run

Month 1

See where you stand

The honest audit. Where you stand, without the flattering or fearful story. Everything is built on this.

Month 2

Get steady enough to decide

Footing and clarity, so the next move comes from strength rather than fear or the comfort of standing still.

Month 3

Find your real opening

Where the value is moving, and what you already hold to claim it. "I want more" becomes a clear direction.

Month 4

Build it — part one

The direction becomes real moves. First action, with someone beside you as you make it.

Month 5

Build it — part two

Through the messy middle, where momentum fades and most people quietly stop when they are alone. You will not be.

Month 6

Become someone who keeps rising

Consolidate what is changed, set the next horizon, and close well — with the capacity to keep going without me.

What you walk away with

  • A transition navigated in full, not just begun
  • A consolidated position and a clear next horizon
  • The capacity to keep rising on your own
